What’s up, Squad!

I’m Dani Speegle, American CrossFit Athlete and fitness influencer. Growing up in Conifer, Colorado, I always lived an active lifestyle between sports and my passion for the outdoors. But it wasn’t until 2015, after graduating from the Florida Institute of Technology with a degree in Marine Biology, that I stumbled upon the world of CrossFit. Needless to say, I never looked back.

In the last six years as a professional CrossFit athlete, I’ve accomplished a lot—from winning my first competition to winning the second season of NBC's The Titan Games and most recently taking first place in the sandbag ladder competition at the NOBULL 2022 CrossFit Games—but I’m just getting started.

Beyond the competition floor, I strive to be a positive role model for women around the world by being unapologetically true to myself and encouraging others to break through barriers to unlock their greatest potential. Together, let’s achieve our goals while crushing good food and making epic memories along the way. Who’s with me?

Q: What moment changed the way you looked at health & fitness?

A: When I first got into CrossFit, I needed something so I could rediscover self-love. I came out of a really bad relationship. It was abusive mentally, emotionally, physically, and I was looking for something to give myself strength again. And as I continued on my CrossFit journey, my why changed, it became more of how can I help and inspire other women? And once I had gotten myself into a good mindset, I started shifting towards, how do I inspire women to be strong within the gym, learn that being strong is beautiful and that we don't have to just fit into these roles that society has put us in for so long anymore.

Q: What would you consider your approach to health & fitness?

A: With CrossFit, you're going into a workout knowing that you are going to be in pain. So you just have to be okay with it. You have to be comfortable being uncomfortable. And so I have to have the mental toughness to be like, I'm going to be uncomfortable and I'm going to be okay with it. The sun will come up tomorrow.

Q: What do you wish younger Dani knew then that you know now?

A: Don't let the cruel things that people say impact your self worth. I think a lot of young women hear things that kids may not even understand the weight in which their words carry, but it changes. It changes how you feel about yourself, it changes how you view yourself. And I would just like to shake my younger self and say, don't let these people who you will not be in contact with 10 years down the road, don't let them determine your self worth.

Q: What does it mean for you to be on the Dymatize Squad?

A: I'm just thrilled to be a part of the Dymatize team. It's hard to find good people in big companies that actually still care about people as humans. So it’s nice to work with a company who supports me in my goals as an athlete, supports me in my goals as I build my own brand, but also supports me in my life. And to top it off, I actually enjoy the products. That's the worst when you find good people and you're like… dang, I don't like the product. So yeah, it's a little dream come true.

Q: Rumor has it your go-to is ISO100. What keeps you coming back for more?

A: I loveee ISO100 because after I'm getting done with a workout, there is a window in which I wanna get all these nutrients into my body. I want to replenish ATP levels, I want to build muscle. Because it’s hydrolyzed, ISO100 allows you to absorb that protein in those nutrients that much faster. And when it's fast absorbing, you actually are able to absorb more. So it's important.
