Hi, Squad!

I’m Cara, a Colorado-living, adventure-loving, fitness gal who enjoys being goofy while doing badass things! I’m passionate about teaching others about how to realistically achieve a life full of movement (with the help of proper fuel) so they can live in a body that loves them back. I went through a tough time when I tore my ACL—not once, but twice— which caused me to have to slow down and learn how to love myself, even when I couldn't operate at 100%. It was challenging, but the comeback was worth it. I’m a full-time nutrition & fitness coach, and I also run a coaching business which focuses on helping women achieve sustainable fat loss. Needless to say, I take my protein pretty seriously, which is why I love Dymatize!

Everyone has a motto that fuels them forward. What’s yours?

Humble Yourself. I named my business after this quote because I genuinely believe that life serves us lessons repeatedly until we learn them. So, if you feel like you’re constantly being humbled or knocked down, take a moment to reflect on what the lesson might be! Growth can be incredibly humbling, but it’s also where you gain the most.

What’s your approach to health and fitness?

I like to think about health & fitness habits as a lifestyle to achieve long term longevity. Your health is how you stay wealthy! Fitness & nutrition are equally as important to me.

If you could do one workout for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Kettlebell training. Kettlebells are incredible for your entire body, but I love how much they challenge your core. There’s also a skill behind it all. So, not only do you get to lift weights, but you also get to channel your focus to improve your force production and athleticism!

What was the defining moment that changed the way you look at health & fitness?

Tearing my ACL two times in the last two years. This changed how I look at my body and my mind. You can do hard things & your body is so, so tough!

What’s one thing you wish someone told you when you decided to get serious about your health & fitness?

If you celebrate the small wins daily, even if it’s just showing up to the gym when you really wanted to skip, it’s going to make your journey feel a lot more exciting.

What does it mean for you to be on the Dymatize Squad?

I love the collaborative efforts within the Dymatize Squad. I truly have been loyal to Dymatize since I began using their product back in 2022, and I am so grateful to create & show others what they are all about! It’s a brand I fully believe in and that makes me excited!

We’ve all had those moments where we wanted to cancel our alarm clock, rebel against our meal plan, turn right back around once arriving at the gym. Can you tell us about the moment that comes to mind? How did you push through?

I ran a marathon this past September in Kauai, HI. I didn’t look ahead to see how challenging the course was, so when I got there, I was expecting to run a moderate course. Instead, the elevation gain was around 1,800 ft., which was so much more than I expected. I was hunched over, running up hills at a snail's pace, and it felt like it went on for years. I just kept visualizing how good crossing that finish line would feel. I am so proud of myself for how I handled that race and that moment! I chanted to myself over and over, “I can and I will.” It was such a powerful moment to prove to myself that I can!
