Chase McGrew
“I’m in pursuit of a life so full of happiness that it spreads to those around me.”
Q: What’s your approach to health and fitness?
A: Personally, I think lifting a couple days a week and most importantly getting cardio in for the average person will always be a good idea. People should be searching for ways to optimize their lifestyle the easiest way possible, and by that I mean finding a form of exercise they enjoy so it is finally sustainable, switching out foods they enjoy for similar low calorie foods or high calorie if you want to gain weight, etc…
Q: Is one more important than the other to you? Why?
A: They each coincide with one another, but health in a general aspect is more important to me because longevity and feeling good is always the goal.
Q: Can you share some of your personal bests?
A: Bench Press: 335 lbs, Squat: 500 lbs, Deadlift: 585 lbs
Q: What’s one thing you wish someone told you when you decided to get serious about your health & fitness?
A: To learn more about diet and nutrition because it affects your workouts and how you feel throughout the day immensely.
Q: We’ve all had those moments where we wanted to cancel our alarm clock, rebel against our meal plan, put it in reverse after parking at the gym. Can you tell us about the moment that comes to mind? How did you push through?
A: Yeah … literally every single morning. Here’s the thing, there is always that force telling us that we don’t want to get up and go to work or wake up super early to workout or whatever difficult task it may be. BUT the force that makes you feel good comes AFTER doing the act. Life is all about routine and habit. No one just “has” to snooze the alarm. It’s a habit. Create a new one.
Q: What does fortitude mean to you?
A: It means marching forward with a smile even when it is the last thing you want to do.
Q: What do you expect from yourself?
A: I never want to take anything too seriously because I think being happy is more important than the problem at hand.
Q: What do you expect from your performance nutrition products?
A: I expect quality and getting exactly what the product says on the label. I also expect great flavor and texture. Dymatize has all the above in my opinion.
